Knives have been around us for ages. Men in prehistoric times usually use rocks and wood to cut and carve things. Eventually the rocks and wood were replaced by metal which is stronger and harder. And as time goes by, men learn how to use different kinds of metal like iron and bronze and even other metal alloys. They also learn how to mold these metals into different styles and shapes. These metals are now popularly called knives.

Knives that are used as weapons are the combat knife, the throwing knife and the bayonet. These are the weapons usually used in combat and in fighting or just as a means of self defense and protection.
